And each man will no longer teach his neighbor and his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know Me [through personal experience], from the least of them to the greatest,” says the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness, and I will no longer remember their sin.”
“In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God].”
In the face of adversity, our natural inclination is to take matters into our own hands or panic. However, Exodus 14:14 provides us with profound wisdom and guidance. It reminds us of the remarkable story of the Israelites, who found themselves in a seemingly impossible situation—trapped between the pursuing Egyptians and the unforgiving waters of the Red Sea.
Imagine the fear and uncertainty that gripped the Israelites as they stood at the edge of the sea, with no apparent way of escape. It was in this desperate moment that Moses spoke the words of Exodus 14:14, offering them a powerful invitation to surrender their worries and anxieties and to find peace in God's presence.
So this verse encourages us to do likewise, have faith, and trust in God's sovereignty and ability to deliver us. Like the Israelites, we are called to be still and let God fight on our behalf. It is a humbling reminder that we are not alone in our struggles, for we have a mighty and loving God ready to provide protection, guidance, and deliverance. We only need to be still and let Him do it. Amen
Remarks on
Psalms
119:106
Loving God's law can keep up from stumbling. It enables us to walk on the path of righteousness. Because God's law serves as a guide to protect us from the traps and snares of the devil. May we be reminded of the day by day of the great peace we will have if we continue to love and obey God's law.
Remarks on
Jeremiah
31:34
Is this not the kind of forgiveness we desire when we pray to the Lord for forgiveness? When we pray, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, are we willing to forgive and remember the sins of those who trespass against us no more, whether they did it intentionally or unintentionally? May the Lord help us to do to others what we desire Him to do for ourselves in terms of forgiveness of sins and trespasses. Amen!
Remarks on
Ephesians
1:13
Paul here is talking to the people of Ephesus, describing their conversion to Christianity. He gives them hope and assurance of how they are protected and saved by God through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the moment they gave their life to Jesus. We who are also believers in Jesus Christ can claim such a promise from God, trusting that the Holy Spirit has been given to as already as part of our inheritance of salvation and redemption.
